Where this came from

The habit that became a tool

This started as a manual workaround, not a plan. While figuring out what to actually build during an AI-native transformation push with product teams, a pattern emerged: talk through observations and open questions with an assistant, let it distill that into a structured, well-formed prompt, then hand that prompt to a couple of colleagues and ask them to run it themselves and send back what came out. It worked - it sharpened the research faster than doing it alone. The only annoying part was the copy-pasting, by hand, in both directions. ez-pollster is an attempt to remove exactly that friction, not to invent a new kind of research.

Two observations that turned into a product

AI-native teams already live in text. Claude Code, Cowork, Codex, Cursor - for a growing number of people, a conversational assistant is already the place where work happens, open for most of the day. Pulling someone out of that into a separate form (Google Forms, Typeform, Tally, an email survey) is friction that doesn't need to exist anymore - not because forms are bad, but because there's now a lower-friction place to ask the same question.

The assistant can help on the answering side too, not just the asking side. A respondent can lean on their own assistant to help articulate an answer from context and experience they already have, instead of reconstructing it from memory on the spot. Open text, with a model helping translate a free-form thought into something legible, removes the pressure to force a real experience into a pre-defined multiple-choice bucket - and for the researcher, raw text from everyone answering is also the raw material for something richer than a tally of categories: a real qualitative picture of what people actually said.

What this is right now

Small, honest framing: this is a beta built to test whether the idea holds up outside one person's head - not a funded company, not a finished platform.
